geolotto

Being a free lottery, I wouldn’t normally mention this on FPL, but GeoLotto is a really innovative way to win some pretty big cash prizes. There is a 1 in 20 chance of winning a cash prize with more than £17 million to be won anywhere in the country.

If, like me, you don’t play the National Lottery then look away now. But if you do like to spend a few pounds each week dreaming of becoming an overnight millionaire then why not try GeoLotto? It’s similar to FPL in that you choose a location and that becomes your entry, but instead of a postcode you choose a square on the map of Britain, so you can buy a place for your home or where you were born, where you went to school, your football team ground…… or anywhere lucky for you!

It costs £1 to enter a place into the weekly prize drop, but if you want to stop other people from owning your place, you better hurry as places are being snapped up. The weekly prizes are as follows:

Prize Number of winners
£1,000,000 1
£100,000 15
£10,000 100
£1,000 2,000
£25 75,000
£5 1,502,191
£5 2,020,199

  1. Nathan Webb says:

not sure I like those odds! 1 in 59,000,000 chance of winning but only a £1,000,000 reward? As someone else stated I think the lotto has better odds than this!

    • Gary says:

Well I tried to open an account and it has refused as it can not verify my age??? I put in my address my bank card details and everything else and yet wont let me join, ive never had much luck so at 48 thought would try something new, l.ooks my luck simply will never happen as I cant even join for a chance to win…

  2. Andy says:

Only Nathan? I too would be gutted with just a million… :-P I’ve joined it recently and signed up for 4 weeks… had a pop at the 20p treasure hunt game with some of the left over cash from my tenner deposit… won £46 quid… plus a bit more so cashed out the £50 and we’ll see how the draw goes. Normal lottery is twice the price, so we’ll see how it goes. Tempting to switch to this. If your square comes up you win… something… could be £5 could be a million… but there’s no 3, 4, 5,6 numbers and bonus ball stuff… :-) we’ll see :-)

  3. just registered will see how i do dont seem to be lucky at all only diid 4 wks but love this site as it free and u never know says:

Have registered gave it a go only paid for 4 wks see how I do couldn’t be any worse than lottery never win but love free post lottery great site never won yet but u only have to check it’s free

  4. John says:

I logged in the next day and all was working. Started a subscription and will see how it goes.

  5. Lailah says:

I bought a couple of squares, won in total 60 GBP, so not bad for about 15 GBP investment. I’ll see how it develops.

  6. Alison says:

I tried this after seeing it advertised on fpl this week. My first £1 entry was in tonights draw and I’ve just received an email to say I’ve won £5! So I’m quite chuffed!

  7. just registered will see how i do dont seem to be lucky at all only diid 4 wks but love this site as it free and u never know says:

Won 5 so far didn’t do subscription just for 4 wks so fat won money back

  8. gemma howard says:

I won £5 fist go yay

  9. Lesley Ford says:

I thought I would try it as not lucky with lotto I was surprised I won 2 X £5 the following week so will see

  10. Claudia says:

I signed up 2 weeks ago and bought 2 squares. However I did spend ages trawling over some major towns and saw that there was only about 20 squares registered, so I contacted them to ask how long it had been running and how many squares were owned. They said that they couldn’t divulge how many squares were actually owned but each square has the same chance of winning – so it didn’t make a difference. I say it does- if the million pound draw actually lands on an owned square and there is not enough money to pay out!
But having said that I just won £5 for my London bridge square. I will keep playing, you never know- my house might be worth a million- or it might be worth £5.

    • Chris says:

It’s a good question. I was told that lotteries use insurance companies to pay out. IE. they effectively pay premiums to insure themselves against wins. Can’t be certain this is the case with GeoLotto but they are backed by a large and legit company.

  11. Jo Tarpley says:

I’ve decided to give it a go, minimum deposit £5 and they’ll give you a £1 free, please send me some fairy dust folks!

  12. Brenda Holden says:

It seems to be the case that people win a small prize very quickly on a lot of these sites. Being a cynic, I can’t help but wonder if these prizes are contrived by the organizers, in order to encourage you to carry on. a sprat to catch a mackerel, in other words.

    • Chris says:

Well.. It would be sneaky if they were up to that… But I doubt they are. I’ll ask them and report back. In the meantime, has anyone won anything apart from a £5 ‘sprat’?

      • Lailah20 says:

Yes, I had 3×5 GBP and once 50 GBP that I had to claim over the phone. The procedure was easy, staff helpful and supportive, money paid within 5 days from the phone call. So far so good ;)

  13. Laura says:

    I gave it a go and won £5 but haven’t played since…

  14. pusstuss says:

5 years personally playing National Lottery and Euromillions- zilch
3 weeks with GeoLotto – £5 – Yay!! Not much I know, but more than zero. And I’ll change my square now.
I don’t even want to think about how much money I’ve given Camelot over the past 3 years as Lottery syndicate manager at work, with virtually nothing to show for it.
It’s a lottery, I don’t know how much odds really come into it – if your luck’s in, your luck’s in. Just a pity mine never is, ha ha
    Love freepostcodelottery though

  15. Jo Tarpley says:

No wins at all for me, I’m just using up my balance now and won’t be doing it again, I don’t really get that many emails off them only encouraging me to buy another square or my square is expiring but I probably will when I stop playing lol

  16. Jo Tarpley says:

    Update – I now have a balance of £61 now that’s a surprise!

  17. Jo Tarpley says:

Further update! Bonus cash cannot be withdrawn!!!

  18. Samantha White-castle Locke says:

Woo E-mail telling me I won a fiver xx

  19. Lynda says:

Joined yesterday. Didn’t get the free £1, but won £5 today. Also had a go at treasure hunt and have won £3.50 on that. Treasure hunt is addictive so be careful.

  20. Jenny says:

“Sorry this bonus campaign has ended”

  21. Carolin says:

Decided to give the Geolotto a go after seeing it on your website 15 mins ago, and won £333.00 in the Treasure Hunt!! Am totally shocked, thanks Chris :)

  22. Bryn says:

I won £5 yesterday. My first win since joining last month.

  23. Susan says:

    I joined last week, £5 minimum deposit + £5 bonus. I won!!! 2 x £5. I’m happy! :)

  24. DSINGH says:

I also joined last week with the £5 free offer, deep £5 and won £5. Well got the email yesterday for BOGOF for every £1 just for today 2nd Nov 14.
For every square bought you get one free.
T&C’s says Free offer only applies to the deposited money from your card not the won balance. Once you bought you should get an email with code for total amount of squares bought within 24hrs. I bought mine early this morning so still waiting for the email.
Why don’t National lottoor Euro Millionair do that sometimes.
    Good luck.

BTW Who ever won the Euro Mill’ns island getaway don’t forget me, one of seven, your best friend.

  25. Sally Baddeley says:

I had a go, won £5 with my one square in first two weeks, so I have left it on subscribe. Its cheaper than national lottery!

  26. chris riley says:

Is great for promotions and have won a fiver about 6 times but is virtually impossible to play on a basic kindle fire

  27. Stacey says:

Can I ask why it’s says 1 in 20 chance of winning but in a comment above someone has put it’s 1 In 100,000s?,only just joined this free postcode lottery so will see what happens will be glad to post if I win but be warned it’s unlikely to happen as I’m not a lucky person x

  28. Nigel Humphrey says:

Deposited £5 and got my £5 bonus. Chose my square for the next 4 weeks. £1 left in my wallet, did the Treasure Hunt and won £5. Withdrew my winnings – so have 4 weeks’ draws and £5 in bonus money for no cost ;)

  29. Bill Simmons says:

Hey guys, I’ve been playing GeoLotto for a few weeks using the £5 bonus above – thanks Chris! :)

Just thought I’d share an email I got from them, where they’re promoting a new game called Free to Play Treasure hunt: https://www.geolotto.com/free-to-play
Here’s the interesting bits from the email:
“Hi Billy, …we’re running a Treasure Hunt game that’s completely free to play and you can still win a cash Jackpot! … Dig up Britain to win cash prizes. Each Dig gives you an entry into the Unlimited Jackpot Draw. … You’ve only got 40 Digs to use each day but play every day to be awarded 100 Bonus Digs.”

There’s more, but I thought that was the crux of it. Anyway, I’m gunna give it a go – every little helps, right?! :)

  30. Bill Simmons says:

    Update: It’s now live – https://www.geolotto.com/free-to-play :) And currently a £65 jackpot!

  31. DSINGH says:

I joined GeoLotto after seeing the free £5 code here, oh well I have won and lost. Anyway today is the launch of free game. It will run until Fri 23rd 5pm. The concept is you join for free. You are awarded a limit of 40 goes each day for each play you could win from 1p to 5p. But here is the interesting part for each play you get extra chance to be put in the grand draw prize of £50 on 23rd. If you play each day you get an extra 100 plays. So that could be a possible of 300 plays for free to get £50. All you loose is your time/data if not unlimited. Another interesting part is Every Dig in the game increases the Jackpot, so more players means a bigger prize. Invite your friends, share the fun and win big together! I can’t see no referral scheme being mentioned. Just that the more register and play their limit each day the bigger the prize gets. E.g. When I played at 10am on Mon 19th the prize was £50 and at 10.37 it was gone up to £62.07. So get the picture…. Go for it got nothing to loose…

  32. WeaselMummy says:

Just had a go after seeing this on here and got my £5 bonus cash for adding £5 of my money – what can you use this on as tried to play treasure hunt and it wouldn’t let me as I had already assigned the £5 I had added.
    Thanks

  33. DSINGH says:

Hi WeaselMummy, you should be able to use the money including the bonus on any of the games, the only thing you can’t do is withdraw this bonus. I would contact them to resolve the issue.

  34. nixi2 says:

been playing GeoLotto for 2 months, won £5 three times

  35. Caroline says:

    Can you explain this…
When I logged on this morning the winning postcode for Saturday 7th Feb was RG1 5RT… but looking at the history of winning postcodes, this says the winning postcode for this date was MK17 9AP HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE??? ARE WE BEING HAD HERE?

    • Chris says:

Caroline. RG1 5RT is the current (Sunday the 8th of Feb) winning postcode. When you click on a reminder email, regardless of what date it was sent, it simply takes you to the website which always shows the current winning postcode. This is why there is a history page for all the past winners.

If you think you’ve spotted an error please contact me instead of jumping to conclusions and posting ridiculous accusations.

  36. Brian holden says:

Surprised at all the wonderful comments here. All our reviews elsewhere appear to suggest that at worst site is a scam

  37. Kath says:

Picked 2 squares last Sunday and won £5 this Saturday – can’t be bad!

  38. Jenny says:

I’ve been playing the free game every day since I signed up. Normally get enough winnings to put a couple of squares on per week but today I won £44 which seemed to be from the free game. When the game had ended, I had found the treasure as it were! :D

  39. Sazzlles says:

I play the free geolotto everyday and generally win enough over a week to put at least one square in the big lottery and a few in the 5p geolotto, and it can be quite fun. I like the turbo play but don’t often log in at the time its on for free.

  40. Jenny says:

Signed the other half up for some free digs, he won a few fivers on his first night and then the next day he had an extra £25 from one draw or another! Enjoy this game.
